Dit is de perfecte b&b voor een bezoek aan Middelburg. Wij hebben de ruime voorkamer met uitzicht op de Lange Jan toren en de jachthaven. Het is er heerlijk rustig maar je bent in 5 minuten lopen in de binnenstad.||De b&b is in een mooi monumentaal pand. De kamer is ruim met een zitje. De badkamer is niet zo ruim, maar schoon en met regendouche. Het geheel is met veel kunst ingericht. Het ontbijt is bijzonder uitgebreid. Vanwege ziekte moesten we een eerdere reservering veranderen, daar werd heel soepel mee omgegaan. Kortom, een geweldige plek om naar toe te gaan, voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten.

Wij hebben een weekend gelogeerd in 'Van de storm in de stilte'. In één woord: geweldig.||De b&b ligt op 5 minuten loopafstand van het centrum en is gevestigd in een monumentaal pand. Er zijn twee kamers te huur, ieder met een eigen (eenvoudige) badkamer. Onze kamer was ruim, super schoon en had een romantisch hemelbed. De kamer is van veel gemakken voorzien zoals koffie- en theefaciliteiten, twee zachte kamerjassen, een gezellig zithoekje en een grote platte tv.Het bed was van zeer goede kwaliteit en smaakvol opgemaakt. Het ontbijt was goed en uitgebreid: diverse broodsoorten, kaasjes, luxe vleeswaren, vers fruit, muesli, een eitje, koffie en thee zoveel je maar wilt en zo'n 15 soorten heerlijke zelfgemaakte jam. Zeer gastvrije ontvangst. De eigenaresse doet er alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken.||Aandachtspuntje: ben je slecht ter been, dan is deze b&b geen goede keus. Om bij je kamer te komen moet je twee wenteltrappen op. Maar voor ons was dit geen enkel probleem. ||Echt een aanrader!

Zeer charmante b&b met geweldige gastvrouw en heerlijk ontbijt. Mooie locatie, kamers zijn origineel en goed voorzien van faciliteiten maar niet super de luxe. Uitstekend voor congresbezoek maar zou ook zeker voor privé bezoek terugkomen.

Wij verbleven 3 nachten, maar het hadden er meer mogen zijn!||Een overdadig ontbijt, een leuke ruime kamer met kanaalzicht, een gezellige gastvrouw Sonja,||en een prima locatie. Voor een bezoek aan Middelburg en of de stranden in de omgeving is deze B&B een absolute aanrader.

een heerlijk weekend was het bij Sonja, in een zeer comfortabele kamer met leuk uitzicht op een historische gracht. Sonja is zeer hartelijk en gastvrij en denkt aan de details waardoor ons verblijf in Zeeland een mooie herinnering is geworden.

My boyfriend and I recently booked three nights here for a long weekend to explore Zeeland by bicycle. We found the host Sonja to be extremely welcoming, attentive and charming. Her bed & breakfast is located in a beautiful historic building along the canal with a nice view of central Middelburg. The room we booked looked even better than the photograph! It was very nicely designed, comfortable, and clean. Our favorite part however was the amazing fresh breakfast each morning which had a variety of sliced fruits, breads, cheeses, jams, eggs and some traditional Dutch foods. Not to mention the beautiful dining room filled with interesting pieces of art. Storm in de Stilte is one of the best B&B's I've ever stayed in, and I highly recommend it for couples looking for a cozy getaway.

Spent a couple of nights at this eclectic B&B in late August. A beautiful historic building on perhaps the best street in Middelburg, with a canal view across to the church tower. The ground floor, used for breakfast, doubles up as an art gallery, which adds to the charm, and the breakfast itself was excellent with a wide selection of Sonja's home made jams. ||The room was two floors up, and the nature of this kind of building is that the staircase is quite tight and steep, however the view was worth the effort.||Depending on how you travel to Middelburg, parking was available outside (or nearly outside) the door when we needed it, but you do have to pay from 8-8. Sonja kindly helped us out here on our arrival.||Also, being a small B&B, you need to arrange/agree your check-in time in advance, and that's the only reason for marking service 4/5. ||Middelburg itself was a really pleasant clean and relaxed place to spend time. The shopping centre is relatively plain, but there are many really beautifully restored historic houses on many of the quiet side streets (including van der Storm in de Stilte itself). Several good eating out options in the town too (we enjoyed a couple on Damplein, a short walk away, De Tropen and La Piccola Italia), and there's a very good and characterful specialist bar for beer fans in the town, De Mug.||Sonja is a very welcoming and helpful host, the building is charming, and our front-facing room had a great view. Alles is goed!

Received a warm welcome from our host and artist/sculptor Sonja. Our Romantic Room (rear of house) was true to the website pictures + tea, coffee, water, wine & snacks. View from window was over a grassed area towards the main canal. TV with lots of channels, including BBC. Picturesque setting, close to the centre of town. Free parking about 15 minutes' walk, metered parking outside. Breakfast was tasteful and satisfying. The entire house has the touch of an artist, including an art gallery. Excellent value. Highly recommended if you can manage the Dutch spiral staircase. ||Recommendations: Have a canal trip on the Rondvaart and then High Tea at the nearby HoneyPie on Achter de Houttuinen but note you must book in advance. Good service & food, including veggie, was had at the Brooklyn Cafe and de Groene Papagaay.
