This is a full review of Fletcher Hotel in Waalwijk.
Before stating the full list of pros and cons of the premesis, i would like to enthesize that this review is not intended to be taken as an act of bad faith but as an honest attempt for improvement. That said, this is a constructive criticism.
Prior to the review, here is a quick TLDR on different criteria, based on a 5-star system.
Cleanliness(how clean was the premises) - 3/5
Quality(how premium the location felt for its price) - 2/5
Staffing(how friendly and helpful the staff was) - 4/5
Food - 3/5

Overall personal rating(we had ordered a "luxury double room" [room 102]) - 2/5

Now for the in-depth review. Before starting with the cons, here are the pros:
1. The lobby felt inviting and spaceous, giving off a modern vibe. There are alot of different info leaflets about things to do around the premises, and it does not hide the fact that most people arriving to the premises are here for the famous park "Efteling".
2. Throughout our stay, (3 nights) we never had an issue with parking, always having a place to put our vehicle in a nice shaded location.
3. The premises are located at a lovely town of Waalwijk, full of things to do and places to eat, albeit the premises itself is also a part bar/restaurant which is always nice to have when on an empty stomach, aspecially after the park visit.

That said, here are the cons.
1. After receiving the card for the room and heading to the elevator, you would notice that even though the hotel looks modern, it is quite evedently dated having stains all over the carpet, and overall having a "service elevator" feel to it.
2. When heading out of the elevator, you are hit with this funky smell that follows you throughout the entirety of your stay including the room itself. Im not sure what it is, but its most certainly not a defuser of some kind.
3. When entering the room, you get the sense that something is not right as the room does not look as on the advertisement, having curtains with holes in them, windows that open with force, a "balcony" thats not so welcoming to be accessed to, thin walls where you can hear the other residents having a chat with a smell of a cigarette from the smokers in the premises.
4. The bathroom is poorly designed having one of those non-curtain glass walls that do not help keeping the water in the shower, shower heads that are old spraying water everywhere, no shower shelving for toiletries like shampoos or soaps, only complimenting with a small bottle of soap, and paper cups for the toothbrushes and the sorts. Overall the moment you step out of the shower, the floor is almost entirely full of water. Whats worse, is the fact that the bathroom is poorly ventelated so the water can stay there for a very long time without drying.
5. The room is constantly hot, (considering our stay was in the start of May, max 27 degrees) not having any sort of air conditioning. I do understand that many places in europe especially do not require such amenities, but having a small industrial AC in the closet and a fan next to the bed, pretty much tells you the age of the hotel. The windows are very hard to open and the balcony had no air coming from outside. Overall, entering the room, felt like entering an oven.
6. For some strange reason, the matress was dented on one side.
7. The food was actually pretty fine, having a small choice of main breakfast couses followed up by a small desert choice of pancakes. Other then that though, there was not much. It certainly gave you something to eat, but no fruits, other then cooked tomatoes no vegetables, and overal the same meal order every morning. At one of the days, out of the blue upon entering the food area of the diner, a child had vomited on the floor infront of our eyes and the father had to take him away from the diner entirely! Not to say that it was because of the food, but it certainly was not a reassuring sight to behold upon.

Overall, the room that was advertised and what we got was not up to standard, and albeit the staff tried to help in a friendly manner, by p
