It was a fantastic Portuguese restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the staff were super friendly and paid attention to details. The food was excellent. Worth the experience. Clean, tidy restaurant.

Very good and real Portuguese options!our second time there. Cataplana is delicious and well served. If you sit outside though, staff took long to take our orders, this could improve a bit.

Alright, let me tell you about my evening at Restaurant Lugar. First of all, when was the last time you walked into a restaurant and instantly felt like they’d been waiting just for you? That’s exactly how the staff made us feel like VIPs, but without all the fuss.

Now, let’s talk food. Ever had a seafood dish that made you wonder, ‘Is it okay to feel this strongly about shrimp?’ Because wow—the seafood here was as fresh as it gets. I mean, the fish probably had a shorter commute to the plate than I did.

And if you’re a wine lover, brace yourself. They bring out a wine list that’s like a little black book of perfect matches. By the end of the night, I think we all found “the one.”

Also, they’ve got all the bases covered with options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks, which is rare enough that I had to ask, ‘Am I in France or Waalre?’ Turns out, both, French-inspired dishes right here in North Brabant.

Bottom line: if you’re looking for an evening of amazing food, great wine, and a few laughs with the staff, Lugar is the place. Just make sure to bring a friend because you’ll want someone to share this with…or just someone to watch your face as you take your first bite!

Goede sfeer, hartelijk ontvangst door de eigenaar. Uitgebreide kaart, kwaliteit van de gerechten voortreffelijk. Mogelijkheid om aangepaste wijnen te nemen bij de a la carte keuzes. Wij komen hier regelmatig en raden andere zeker aan hier te komen.

Leuk restaurant. Het business menu genomen. 3 gangen. Voorgerecht was qua smaak niet zo spannend, hoofdgerecht was heerlijk. Nagerecht(creme brulee) was zeer dun en dus vrij droog en niet smeuïg. Ijs en chocolade mouse was heerlijk. Wat ons eigenlijk het meeste opviel was weinig beleving van het personeel. Dure wijn besteld maar niet één keer bij geschonken. Water zelf moet inschenken. Al met al geen probleem maar een beetje jammer. 4 tafeltjes bezet dus tijd genoeg. Wijnkaart is behoorlijk aan de prijs, daar zou nog wat goedkopere wijnen op mogen staan. Enfin, nogmaals aardige middag gehad maar er zijn een paar verbeterpunten naar ons inziens.

We went for dinner at Lugar and we ordered a starter and meat as main dish. The starter was a bit scarce compare with the other dishes. The amount of meat was perfect and the quality of the best we have tried in the area. For dessert, we tried two options, the option with the chocolate was nice. The second with the green ice cream was a bit disappointing, while the ice cream was amazing the rest of the elements weren’t of our taste. Regarding the service and atmosphere at Lugar, you can expect the best attention and a relaxing and nicely designed space. I would recommend to try this place on a special occasion.

Mooie lunch genoten bij Lugar in Waalre. Mooie strakke maar toch warme inrichting. Service was vriendelijk en totaal niet teveel aanwezig. Mooie wijnkaart met een mooi assortiment voor de gerechten die ze serveren. Internationale gerechten staan er op de kaart. Een heerlijke Paella gegeten en een traditionele zeetong als hoofdgerecht. Ook het dessert was en is een rede om hier weer terug naar toe te gaan. En dan gaan we de avond-kaart proberen.
Na 5 jaar weer een top lunch gehad. Kwaliteit en kwantiteit staat hier hoog aangeschreven.
