The lake location is excellent. Access to the nature path around the lake was great for our morning workouts. We had a family room that faced the front. It was very spacious and a fit our needs of 5 perfectly. Even if we had 6 it would still been plenty of space. The bar was great too! Highly recommend Stony Creek Hotel.

We have stayed here on at least 3 previous occasions and on this stay noticed that the hotel does need some updating. The bed was very comfortable but in common with many hotels daily housekeeping is no longer automatic which we feel is poor. The breakfast was distinctly average so we ate out for the remainder of our stay. The hotel is in an excellent position and nice location and with some modernisation we would certainly return. We used the laundry facilities which were adequate and at reasonable cost.

The hotel, the room, the friendly staff, the free breakfast... All of these things are quite good.

Unfortunately we received a wake up call at 7:30 in the morning that we did not request. When asking the front desk. What happened? We were told " oh that's our phone system. You have to turn that off"

Let me make it real clear... No one wants to be woken up without a specific request. To be told that it's "automatic, it's the phone system" or "we" needed to do something in order to make sure that didn't happen, "we" needed to push a button on our phone (that we were not told about upon check-in at 2:00 a.m. after driving 12 hours), only to be awoken at the time we did not intend. This was not pleasant or appreciated when we're trying to recharge for hours more driving.

The biscuits and gravy saved the day...

I've stayed a few times at this hotel. The area is safe. Several restaurants in driving distance. The staff is really nice, friendly to talk to. The bar is a vibe, didnt eat there but the food smelled good. This trip I think I'll try the pool, they have adult swim 10-11 ? The rooms are clean with standard amenities. Breakfast is actually really good for hotel breakfast. Plan your stay on french toast day ? Only negative thing i can say is that not all rooms have USB ports. Would be an easy fix by management. All in all definitely worth the money. I highly recommend

We absolutely love Stoney creek! The staff are always so so helpful! The rooms are so nice for the price, and the views are pretty nice to not really be in the country! Breakfast in pretty good too!!!

I located a hidden camera in my room.

I stayed Sunday through Thursday for a work conference at the Stoney creek inn. As I was cleaning up my belongings on Thursday night, I located a small camera with a micro SD card in the entertainment center. The camera was directly facing the bed. This hotel needs to have a better cleaning crew. If I, as a customer, can locate this camera then their staff should be able to find it as well and since they didn’t then it make me wonder who placed it there in the first place. I contacted Independence Police, filed a report and turned over the device to them. Only after I reached out to corporate was I contacted back. Corporate could only agree that it is disturbing.

If this hotel cannot guarantee the privacy of their guests then they shouldn’t be in business. The privacy of a hotel guests should be the number 1 priority. When the Stoney creek inn failed at securing my privacy, they offered no additional solutions. Talk about feeling violated.

I couldn’t imagine how I would have reacted if I brought my wife and children to this hotel to find a hidden camera.

As someone who has taken many cross-country trips, I've seen a more than most and am rarely as impressed as I was staying here! The front desk agents and housekeeping was phenomenal. The rooms were oh so quiet and comfortable. I loved getting to take a stroll outside in view of the lake, and I appreciated the extremely tasteful decor (coming from a home stager/stylist) that together created a much more relaxing experience that most hotels. I'd definitely hold a conference here someday!

Location was excellent. My wife loved the bookstore next door. The pool was so cold. Breakfast was great, especially the pancake machine. My family loved the chocolate milk!!!!! The only issue was that they did not give us enough washcloths and could not get us more.
